This Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers Program began in 1984 stemming from the efforts of  the Wauwatosa Police Department's Community Support Division and  supported by the Wauwatosa Common Council. Our program now operates as an independant board of citizen volunteers with one Police Liaison, meeting monthly at the Wauwatosa Police Department.

Through lots of hard work by the board, the  concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Donations of airtime, newspaper space, and reward monies have established the Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers as an effective tool to fight crime in the area.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers is to support the high quality of life for the citizens of Wauwatosa and those who work and visit by reducing crime and supporting the Wauwatosa Police Department in successful prosecution of unlawful activities.

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The purpose of the Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers is to:                                          

  1.)  Promote community welfare by assisting the Wauwatosa Police Department   

 2.)  Provide funds for awarding persons who provide information about a crime
